Chapter 27. University Relations
Michigan Tech Graphic Symbols: Registered trademarks of Michigan Tech are "Michigan Technological University," "Michigan Tech," "MTU," "Huskies," the official University seal, the Michigan Tech logotype, the huskies seal, the huskies script, and husky dog. Any other design, symbol, drawing, seal, word, or group of words that have become associated with the University may also function as trademarks.
All of the symbols promote public awareness and immediate, widespread recognition of the University, its programs, and its high standards. Use of these symbols maintains consistency in the University's image.
Each trademark has a specific purpose.
University trademarks must be used with permission, properly, and without embellishment or distortion.
The University reserves the right to refuse permission to use its trademarks in cases that involve use considered in poor or questionable taste.
The use of the Michigan Tech name, logos, seals, and/or other symbols of Michigan Technological University in any commercial venture requires prior written approval from the office of Intellectual Property Administration (see section 11.5. Trademark Logo).
Official University trademarks used on departmental Web sites, must be obtained from http://www.mtu.edu/wwwhelp/logos.html.
