BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL COMMUNICATION


BACKGROUND:

In accordance with Senate Proposal 7-78, General Policy for Academic Program Planning, the Senate adopted Senate Proposal 4-79, Commitment to Develop a Bachelor of Science in Scientific and Technical Communications Degree Program on December 13, 1978 (Senate minutes pp. 1502, 1506-1507). This proposal was approved by the President on February 19, 1979.

The program has been developed and approved by the Humanities Department. On May 8, 1981 the Michigan Academic Officers also approved. The Curricular Policy Committee of the Senate, in accordance with Senate Proposal 10-70, has considered the proposed program. The Committee recommends adoption of the following proposal.

PROPOSAL:

The Senate of Michigan Technological University recommends the approval of the program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Scientific and Technical Communications Degree. A detailed degree schedule follows (Available by Request from the Senate Office).
