K-DAY RECESS DATE
Based on
the Academic Calendar Guidelines, Keweenaw Day (K-Day) recess is scheduled to
begin at noon on the Friday following Labor Day. An instructor who has classes
in the afternoon on MFW is then meeting his/her class only once during that
week. As a consequence, the students enrolled in these classes are subjected to
very little course material during that week.
To
distribute the course material more evenly over the 14-week instructional
period, it is proposed to move K-Day to the Friday of the week following the
week of Labor Day.
