Chronic deficits and recurring budgetary problems have cast doubt on the ability of the current administration to serve as judicious stewards of university finances and have negatively affected the morale of faculty, staff, and students and their ability to achieve the goals of the University.
The faculty and professional staff ask the Board of Control to use any necessary means to set up an independent review of the systemic financial problems of the University. We request recommendations on needed improvements of our budgeting and financial structure, on the qualifications of persons needed in that structure, and on the process of deciding priorities of expenditures.
