Chapter 23. Recreational Facilities
Portage Lake-Golf Course: A recreational facility the University owns and maintains that consists of an 18-hole golf course.
The Portage Lake-Golf Course operating hours are from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day during the golf season, generally between the months of April and October as weather conditions permit.
Highlights of the facility are:
Tee times are arranged on the first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are required between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. each day and may be arranged up to 48 hours in advance. Persons failing to make their reserved tee time will loose the reservation and will need to reschedule and may be liable for a penalty charge.
Nine and 18 hole, day, and season passes are available at the Pro Shop. Family and other special group rates are available by arrangement.
All golf passes are nontransferable and nonrefundable. University employees may pay for membership by payroll deduction, cash, or credit card. Payment by the general public is to be made by cash or credit card.
In addition to physical education classes, use of the course by special groups such as high school classes and teams, and community youth groups may be arranged.
The Golf Course operates a Pro Shop for equipment sales and rentals, tee off registration, and golf lesson arrangements.
Users of the Portage Lake Golf Course and the Clubhouse must maintain order and abide with the rules and regulations of the University and the Golf Course. Consumption of food and/or beverages is permitted only in designated areas.
