Meet the 2008-2009 UWC Scholarship Winners!


Margarita Nieskes		Rebecca Franke

Margarita Nieskes and Rebecca Franke were selected out of 34 applicants to receive UWC Scholarships for 2009. Margarita is a sophomore in Biological Sciences (pre-med) and Rebecca is a senior in Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. Each will receive an $800 scholarship toward their educational goals at Michigan Tech. Congratulations!

The University Women's Connection Scholarship

"Each year since 1994, the University Women's Connection has given scholarship(s). This year two scholarship(s) will be awarded, with the value to be determined. (Historically, scholarships range from $500- $800).

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the scholarship:

be full-time students at Michigan Tech with a minimum GPA of 2.75, currently in their freshman, sophomore or junior year with a minimum credit load of 12 credits
have demonstrated leadership or contributed to extracurricular student activities or community service within the past three years; financial need will be a consideration.
