Provide credit equivalent to SDC yearly membership in the faculty and staff debit cards. This credit may be used by the faculty or staff member at any of the following units under MTU Auxiliary Enterprises (SDC, Golf Course, Ski Hill, Tennis Courts).
Proposal Background
The advantages of such a benefit to the faculty/staff and University are:
The faculty/staff receive an additional benefit.
The use of this credit will enhance the physical and mental well being of the faculty/staff and thus their effectiveness in doing their job, with less sickness.
The University will lose income from those who are already members. However, such people would most likely participate in additional activities for which they will pay. For those who are not members this benefit could provide an incentive to join. So the University could increase its revenue from the facilities, which are substantially under-used compared to those at other universities.
