Department charters are required to include a grievance procedure which includes an elected committee of peers to review appeals of any grievance decision made by the department chair. When the department grievance committee agrees with the chair, the decision of the chair is final. When the committee disagrees with the chair, further appeal will follow Senate approved policy.
