PROPOSAL 7-71

MODIFICATION TO GRADING POLICY

In order that the grade recorded and reported to the student shall be a true reflection of his instructor's evaluation, the following modifications to current policy are hereby established:

  1. A grade of V (audit) shall not be automatically recorded for all students auditing a course. The instructor may at his discretion report of grade of V or F for an audit student. The grade of F will result in the removal of the course from the student's transcript.

  2. Under no circumstances may a grade be changed by anyone other than the instructor in the course or his authorized representative. If any question arises concerning the grade recorded by the instructor, the grade shall be left blank on any records until the instructor is consulted.

  3. No grade shall be given by anyone other than the instructor of the course or his authorized representative.

  4. At the conclusion of each quarter after the grades have been recorded, two copies of each section list shall be prepared showing the grades recorded for each student. Both copies shall be forwarded to the department offering the course, one for the departmental files and one for the instructor.
