The Senate of Michigan Technological University approves of the establishment of a dual degree program involving the Bachelor of Arts in Arts and Technology degree and the Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree. A description of the program follows.

BACHELOR OF ARTS AND BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREES: DUAL DEGREE, ARTS-ENGINEERING (five-year program - 233 credits)

The B.A. and B.S. Dual Degree program requires that a student complete all the requirements for the Bachelor of Arts in Arts and Technology degree. The student and advisor are to develop a core of either electrical or mechanical engineering courses appropriate to the student's specific concentration. With the background established in the professional core, it would be possible to develop an approved BSE program by defining appropriate courses totaling at least 60 credit hours. These additional credits would contain approved Design and Professional Elective sequences selected with the advice of an appointed Professional Interest Group and approved by the College of Engineering.
