PROPOSAL 9-13

 (Voting Units: Academic)

“MID TERM GRADE PROPOSAL”

Background

Mid-term grade reporting was moved from the end of week 7 to the end of week 6 giving students additional time after receiving mid-term grades to decide whether to remain in a course. With the last day to drop a course moving from week 8 back to week 10, mid-term reporting can move to back to week 7 giving faculty more time to assess mid semester student performance.…………………….…..

Proposal

1)   Change mid-term reporting from the end of week 6 of the semester to the end of week 7.  (ref. Policy 309.1)

Mid-Term Grades A mid-semester grade will be given to each first-year student enrolled in a course offered for credit.  Mid-semester grades will not be considered permanent and thus will not be recorded on the academic transcript.

A standard grading system shall be used by all course instructors.
