President Bob Keen called University Senate Meeting 390 to order at 4:39 p.m. on Wednesday, 23 July 2003, in Room 111 ME-EM.

1. ROLL CALL OF SENATORS
Vice President Becky Christianson called roll. Absent were At-large Senators Adolphs, Beck, Oberto, Selfe, and Pilling, and representatives from Army/Air Force ROTC, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Geological and Mining Engineering and Sciences, Materials Science and Engineering, Mathematical Sciences, ME-EM, Keweenaw Research Center, and Academic Services-Non Engineering. Liaison in attendance was Becky Christianson (Staff Council). Only 23 Senators were present; 25 were needed for a quorum, so the quorum failed and the meeting was adjourned.

Visitors were Kent Wray (Provost), Jim Moore (School of Forest Resources and Environmental Science), and Marcia Goodrich (Tech Topics).
