I. Scenarios Affecting Web Accessibility

Differently-abled users

Web pages should be accessible to people with vision impairment, hearing impairment, learning disabilities, color blindness, and loss of motor skills. This generally requires scripting enhancements to accommodate screen readers, keyboard-only browsing, voice command input devices, and mouse-only browsing.

Alternative technologies used for browsing the internet

Technologies for browsing the internet vary greatly: browser type, browser version, monitor resolution, resident fonts, color depth, script enabling (javascript, style sheets, frames), and plug-ins.

Orientation and navigation

Web sites without clearly grouped menus, well-defined link targets, and consistent layout can be difficult for anyone to process and navigate.
