Call for Nominations: 2011 Faculty Distinguished Service Award
submitted by Diane Shoos, chair, Distinguished Faculty Service Award Committee
Nominations for the 2011 Faculty Distinguished Service Award will be accepted until Monday, March 21.
The award recognizes faculty whose service to the University community has significantly improved the quality of some aspect of campus or community life. The work could have resulted, in part, from compensated efforts, but it must distinguish itself from the normal execution of those tasks. The award is open to all full-time faculty, including lecturers and research faculty. Those who hold restricted appointments (e.g. adjunct, visiting, temporary or part-time faculty) are not eligible. Faculty who hold positions with a significant administrative component (e.g. deans, associate deans, department chairs, etc.) are not eligible. A cash prize of $2,500 accompanies the award.
Anyone--faculty, staff or students--can nominate a faculty member for this honor. Please consider recognizing the efforts of a faculty member who you know is making Michigan Tech a better place for all of us.
After March 1, nomination forms will be available online at http://www.sas.it.mtu.edu/usenate/ . Submissions may be made electronically or to Diane Shoos, Humanities, at email@example.com .
