Greetings!

It is a pleasure to welcome you to Michigan Tech and what we hope will be an exciting time for you. As you probably know by now, our mission is to prepare students to create the future. We do this by attracting bright, motivated, and adventurous students, and we are dedicated to the simple notion of educating them to be the very best.

Participating in the life of the University is a vital component of your success. We encourage you to seek out and embrace opportunities to be involved both in and out of the classroom. Pursue a research project with a professor, undertake a community service initiative, get crazy with the pep band, become a team member of an enterprise, spend the afternoon on the climbing wall at the Student Development Complex, sing in the gospel choir, check out fraternities and sororities, or become a DJ at WMTU. Experiences like these will significantly enrich your student life and your degree.

This Student Planner and Handbook has been prepared with you in mind as you begin your journey at Michigan Tech. You will find important information and a variety of resources to assist you in managing your time and obligations. I encourage you to use it daily.
