Learning Centers

Studies have shown that students who use the learning centers at Michigan Tech get better grades. Some of the best Michigan Tech students may encounter problems academically because they've never had to study before. While high school may have been very easy for them, they may feel challenged in the new academic environment at Michigan Tech. To help, learning centers are available for a variety of subjects.

The centers are staffed by upper-division students who have mastered the material but still remember what it's like to be completely baffled. They offer coaching on subjects ranging from differential equations and organic chemistry to writing an essay, and they can also give you tips on learning and taking tests.

Most centers offer weekly appointments for long-term improvement, walk-in hours for short-term help with an immediate problem, and team learning with your peers. For more information, check out the websites for each learning center.

If you feel as if you're falling behind in class, or if you'd like to boost your grade, don't hesitate to visit a learning center.
