Senate Higher Education Subcommittee Hearing at Michigan Tech

May 9, 2007—Glenn D. Mroz, president of Michigan Technological University, will testify this Friday at a public hearing of the Michigan Senate Appropriations Committee’s Subcommittee on Higher Education. The hearing, the last of four being held around the state, is scheduled for 2 to 4 p.m. at the Advanced Technology Development Complex on the Michigan Tech campus in Houghton.

The Subcommittee on Higher Education also will hear testimony from Diether H. Haenicke, president of Western Michigan University; Michael A. Boulus, executive director of the Presidents Council; and a representative of the Agricultural Experiment Station/Cooperative Extension Service at Michigan State University.

The subcommittee is scheduled to make its budget decisions during the week of May 14 and send them to the Appropriations Committee for deliberations the week of May 21. Senate action is expected the week of May 29.
