Tech Picked Fifth in GLIAC Football Poll For more information on this story contact:
JULY 29, 2004 -- Michigan Tech is picked to finish fifth of 13 teams in the annual Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Preseason Football Coaches Poll it was announced today at the league's annual media day.
"We certainly have high expectations for the upcoming season," said Head Coach Bernie Anderson. "It's an exciting time for our program. We're out to set a home attendance record when we open the season against Northern Michigan on August 28. And then to close our regular-season on Nov. 6, we host Grand Valley at Michigan Stadium as we look to break the Division II attendance record of 61,143."
Representatives from nearly 30 media outlets around the state of Michigan gathered at Grand Valley State's Alumni House for the media day event, which featured presentations from all 13 of the GLIAC's head football coaches.
Michigan Tech begins practice for the upcoming season on August 8.
