JULY 2, 2004 -- While the announcement for the Bash at the Big House -- a football game between Michigan Tech and two-time defending national champion Grand Valley State at Michigan Stadium on November 6 -- came some time ago, fans now have an opportunity to purchase merchandise for the event.
T-shirts and sweatshirts are currently available online at Bashatthebighouse.com and also at University Images and the Campus Store on the Michigan Tech campus, with many more items to be added in the coming weeks.
"The Bash at the Big House has drawn tremendous interest from fans around the state," said MTU Athletics Director Rick Yeo. "We are pleased to now offer items that will commemorate the event."
More than 12,000 tickets have already been sold for the game, which will attempt to break the NCAA Division II football attendance record of 61,143. Tickets for the record-breaking event are on sale at Bashatthebighouse.com.
The Bash at the Big House has evolved from a football game into an entire weekend of activity.
Michigan Tech has developed the Michigan YES (Youth Engineering Science) Expo, an event in the adjacent Crisler Arena that will expose those in grades 8 through 12 to the interesting careers and outcomes of a science, engineering, and technology based education.
Exhibitors from industry and many of the state's public universities will be present to share with our state's future leaders. The YES Expo will run before and after the football game on Nov. 6. Corporations and individuals are donating tickets for youth to attend the Expo and football game.
In addition, Michigan Tech will battle Michigan in men's basketball on Sunday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m. in Crisler Arena as part of the Bash weekend. |
