And they won't ever have to leave the Lower Peninsula.
Michigan Tech will offer two bachelor of science in engineering (BSE) degrees: one with a minor in product design and one with a minor in municipal engineering.
The details will be highlighted at information sessions at Delta College on March 16-17, and at HFCC on March 17-18.
The programs are designed to accommodate those who work during the day or need flexibility in scheduling. The engineering courses are taught by Michigan Tech faculty through distance learning methods.
The BSE with a minor in product design features a technical emphasis on mechanical engineering. The program focuses on the modeling and analysis tools used by the design engineer.
The BSE with a minor in municipal engineering has a technical emphasis on civil engineering and prepares students for careers in land development, traffic planning, water and wastewater treatment and municipal planning.
