September 23, 2003--Karol Pelc, a professor in Michigan Tech's School of Business and Economics, has been selected to receive the International Association for the Management of Technology's (IAMOT) Research Award.
Pelc has been teaching at Michigan Tech since 1985. He has published three books and more than 100 papers. His current research interests are centered on management of technology as a new domain of expertise.
The IAMOT Research Award is presented anually to a researcher who is active in the field of technology and innovation management. The recipient is chosen based on the number of publications they have made in specialty journals in their field.
This year's nominees included researchers from 15 countries. The award will be presented at the annual IAMOT conference, to be held next April in Washington, DC.
Pelc is the past director of the Center for Technological Innovation, Leadership and Entrepreneurship at Michigan Tech. He initiated and co-founded Michigan Tech's Entrepreneurs and Inventors Club, which is open to students, faculty and staff of the university as well as to inventors and entrepreneurs from the Upper Peninsula.
Pelc received a PhD in Business Administration and an MS in Electronic Engineering from the Technical University of Wroclaw, Poland as well as a PhD in Electronics from the University of Uppsala, Sweden. |
