President's Convocation, which includes President Curt Tompkins' State of the University Address, will be held Wednesday, September 20.

The Academic Procession of faculty in academic robes begins at 2:45 p.m. at the Memorial Union and ends at the Rozsa Center. Convocation follows at 3:00 p.m. During the ceremonies, awards will be presented to students, faculty, and staff. MTU employees will be excused from work to attend.

"Everyone is invited to attend this annual celebration to mark the beginning of our academic year," Vice Provost for Instruction Stephen Bowen said. "It's an opportunity to learn the latest perspective on the status and future of Michigan Tech, and show your support for the students and faculty who have won our most prestigious awards. Also, this will be one of the first opportunities for many to see the Rozsa Center. Everyone who can get free should attend."

A reception with refreshments will follow Convocation.

In case you can't get out of the office, Convocation will be streamed live and on-demand at http://webmedia.mtu.edu
