The competition for the 2008 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) is now open! SURFs are open to all Tech undergraduates who have at least one more semester remaining after the summer. The application is here.

Awards of $1,400-$3,000 - subject to change, depending on availability of funds - are available for the summer of 2008. Applications are due no later than Friday, February 8, 2008. Applicants will be notified of awards during the week of February 25.

Fellowship winners will spend between 7 and 14 weeks on an individual research project under the guidance of an MTU faculty mentor. Fellowship winners are required to:

• Attend the Undergraduate Seminar Series
• Complete a pre- and post-research survey
• Present their research at the Fall SURF Poster Session during MTU's Open House, the Spring Undergrad Expo-UGR, or other approved venue
