If an employee's former position becomes available within a period of three (3) years or the length of the employee's seniority, whichever is shorter, from the time of assignment to another position, the employee will be given one opportunity to return to that position. If the employee wishes to return, written notice must be given to the Human Resources Department within two (2) days of notice of the opportunity.
If an employee is returned to the former position or to a vacancy at the same pay grade level following a reduction of the work force, the employee will receive the former rate of pay plus any scheduled increase.
