To the extent that the laws of the State of Michigan permit:

1. An employee shall, as a condition of continued employment, either join the Union, continue membership in the Union, or pay to the Union within ten (10) days after the thirtieth (30th) day following the effective date of this Agreement or within ten (10) days after the one-hundred and fifth (105) day following employment, whichever is later, a sum per month which is equal to the monthly deduction for union dues required for union membership.

2. An employee who shall tender the periodic amount uniformly required by this Section shall be deemed to meet the conditions of this Section.

3. Employees shall be deemed to be in compliance with this Agreement, within the meaning of this Section, if they are not more than sixty (60) days in arrears in payment of membership dues or the equivalent service charge.

4. The Employer shall be notified in writing, by the Union, of any employee who is sixty (60) days in arrears in payment of membership dues or the equivalent service charge.
