Layoff
The University endeavors to provide stable employment for its staff members. However, situations such as a lack of funds, lack of work, or reorganization may require a reduction in the work force. The employee to be laid off will receive notice as soon as practicable. At the time of notice, the employee will meet with his/her supervisor and receive written notification.
In the event of a layoff, you should schedule an appointment with the Benefits Office to discuss your layoff status. Human Resources will be available to answer any concerns.
While in layoff status, you have recall rights for one year from date
of layoff or for a period equal to the length of your employment, whichever
is less.
