Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The Employee Assistance Program is a resource to help you through difficult times, assisting you to cope with personal, work, or family problems. The purpose of Michigan Tech's EAP is to encourage faculty, staff, and their families to take the important first step to solve these problems that adversely impact your personal life and your job.

Procedure - EAP provides CONFIDENTIAL help for you and your family, 24 hours a day. If you call 482-2299, an EAP staff member can discuss your situation with you over the telephone or set up an appointment to meet with you. Depending on your needs, the EAP staff member may refer you to one or more community service agencies for assistance. If you desire, follow-up may be made with the agency you select to ensure that you are receiving quality service and moving toward successful resolution.

What Kind of Help - EAP can assist you with a variety of issues affecting your life, including, but not limited to:

Cost - EAP is a benefit to employees and their dependents. There is no charge for the EAP services; however, fees may be charged for the services of a referral. Fees for counseling and other treatment may be covered by the University health insurance plan.
