Can I apply directly to the Human Resources department?
Currently, to apply for the User Support Specialist II and User Support Specialist III openings, you must submit job applications electronically via our online site, Michigan Tech Jobs.To view and apply for posted Additional Staff Vacancies, or Faculty Vacancies, please click the appropriate links at left and follow the instructions included with those job postings.

What if I don't have access to a computer?
You can visit the Michigan Tech Human Resources department, located on the second floor of the Lakeshore Center, to use the open kiosk and receive in-person guidance as you create an account and apply for a job. There are also several areas on campus where current employees can access computers (see Designated Computers document). If you do not live in the local area, there are likely places nearby where you can use publicly available computers (e.g. public libraries). Please call the Human Resources office at 906-487-2280 with any questions or assistance.

Do you keep my application on file for other open jobs?
No, you must submit a new application for each job you wish to apply to. However, your account on Michigan Tech Jobs will remain active so you are able to submit separate applications for each job you wish to apply to.

How will you notify me of my application status for the User Support Specialist II or III positions?
Generally, we will communicate with you via the email account you use for your Michigan Tech Jobs account. You can also log in to your account to check on the status of your application.

May I use more than one résumé when applying online via the Michigan Tech Jobs site?
Yes, you can submit a new résumé for each job you apply for. You are able to store several different versions of your résumé and cover letter in your Michigan Tech Jobs account so you are able to tailor your job applications to each job.

What materials will I need when I apply for a job online via the Michigan Tech Jobs site?
Job postings will include a list of required and optional documents. Generally, most jobs will request a résumé and cover letter.
