Using WebCT

WebCT is a course managment tool that gives you immediate access to course materials. Once you login to the WebCT site , you can access an online archive of all class materials, communicate with members of your distance learning class, and track your grades and online class participation. All at your convenience!

Below is a short explanation of the main components of WebCT along with quick tips about using WebCT to your advantage.

Course Content

The Course Content page is an online archive of all of the materials that you have recieved at your site. Materials are organized by the dates that they were shipped to you. Most of the listed links are in HTML or PDF forms.

TIPS

View Grades

You can see all of your recorded scores. You will only have access to your own grades.

TIP

Calendar

When the calendar is opened, you can sort through the month and look at different events pertinent to your class. If there is a link, double click to get to the link for that event. You will also find out when new events are posted when you visit your myWebCT page.

Bulletin Board

Select compose and a box will pop up that allows you to select the recipients of your message, write your message, and send it. You can find out about new mail by going to the mail function and they will have been posted when you visit your myWebCT page.

TIPS

Course Mail

This is a WebCT specific function only! You must go to WebCT to send or receive internal messages. You can use this just as you would your normal email by composing, attaching, and sending, etc.

If you are having trouble opening a PDF, you may need Acrobat Reader. You can download a free copy of Acrobat Reader.

If you are having browser trouble, you may be using an oler version (version 3 or 4, for example) or just need a tune up. To download a newer version visit
