The Department of Mechanical Engineering - Engineering Mechanics (ME-EM) at Michigan Tech offers a Master of Science coursework degree in either Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics.
The degrees meet the guidelines of Plan C outlined in the Michigan Tech Graduate Bulletin. The Signature Program is a flexible degree program that allows students to take a portion of the course work from other colleges or universities.
Students applying to the Signature program must have a BS degree in engineering or a related field, have a cumulative GPA greater than 3.0 (4.0 scale), and be willing to commit two to three years to complete the program.
An encouraged but optional registration and advising period takes place annually in August at Michigan Tech.
MTU distance learning courses are currently offered via video streaming. The course lectures are taped as they are taught on campus and are posted to the course web site with accompanying materials.
