CTLFD Mini Grant for Instructional
Improvement and Innovation

Description:

The Center for Teaching, Learning, and Faculty Development announces the availability of “mini grants” which are to be used for instructional improvement and innovation. The purpose of these grants is to improve teaching effectiveness and student learning. These grants are available to support the instructional mission of Michigan Tech and will be awarded for the purchase of teaching/learning materials (i.e., software, DVDs, new teaching technology) or travel to a conference to learn new teaching strategies. These grants are not intended to fund routine supplies and equipment that are normally supported by departmental budgets.

Amount Available:

Grants will be awarded up to a maximum amount of $500 and must be expended in the fiscal year in which they are awarded.

Eligibility:

Full- and part-time faculty and administrative staff with teaching responsibilities are eligible to apply.

Submission Process and Due Date:

Please send a written proposal to the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Faculty Development describing how the funds would be expended and the proposed benefits by Monday, October 19, 2009.
