A good reflection should be clear, concise, and coherent.
It should be 5-7 paragraphs in length.
As I read the reflections, I am looking for two basic things:Reflections can be informal and conversational in tone, but please proofread your submissions before you hit the send button. Sometimes a missing word or careless typographical error can change the entire meaning of a message.
If the reading or video is primarily factual or of a technical nature. You might highlight the key points. In effect, you might provide a condensed outline of the reading AND then include your opinion of the effectiveness of the piece and/or how it might have been improved.
If the reading or video is an essay or expression of opinion, you might express your understanding of the case the author made and how that opinion squared with your understandings or how it was supported (or not).
I am very interested in your thinking, your beliefs, and how the course materials impact your present beliefs and understandings.
If you find something useful in the assignment, tell me why. Similary, if you find something you disagree with explain why you disagree and how your thinking differs.
