The MTU American Indian Science & Engineering (AISES) Chapter at Michigan Technological University (MTU) is located in Houghton, a town in western Michigan's beautiful Upper PeninsulaMTU/AISES membership is open to Native students and professional community members. Its purpose includes providing a supportive environment for Native American students and to provide opportunities for MTU, and surrounding communities, to learn about Native American culture.

MTU/AISES is the local chapter of the national AISES organization which provides financial scholarships, job fairs, leadership training, and national conferences to support its members.    The MTU/AISES chapter attends the AISES National Conference which will held in Phoenix, Arizona, November 1-3, 2007.

Events sponsored by MTU/AISES include the Annual Native American Speakers’ Forum, followed by the Spirit of the Harvest Powwow, held on October 26-27th, 2007.
