A formal leave of absence may be granted for personal reasons for a period not to exceed one hundred eighty (180) calendar days upon written application through an employee's immediate supervisor to Human Resources subject to the approval of the appropriate vice president/Provost. Such leave may be extended for an additional period not to exceed one hundred eighty (180) calendar days subject to the approval of the appropriate vice president/Provost with notification to Human Resources. In no event shall such a leave be granted to enable an employee to work for another employer or in self-employment.
