Subject: Strategic Faculty Hiring Initiative (from Provost Lesley Lovett-Doust)

Dear Colleagues:

As you know, Michigan Tech is working on a Strategic Faculty Hiring Initiative (SFHI)
in sustainability that will bring us 10 growth positions, three of which are the Robbins Chairs.
We need your help to ensure we attract the best applicants to these positions.

We are developing a special web page for this initiative that is intended to answer some of the
questions a strong applicant might have. For example, who would her/his colleagues be,
what are they working on, and what facilities exist to support research?

*We need your help to develop a list of major facilities and research resources available
in your College/Faculty/Department/Center that can be used to support research at
Michigan Tech.  *Special field sites, shared facilities, etc. would also be important.

Please could you email your list to Jason Keith (jmkeith@mtu.edu). The data will be posted
at the SFHI web page over the next few days when the website is made public.
