Subject: Graduate Enrollment Numbers

Dear Colleagues,

The final preliminary Spring 2008 enrollment numbers are out and the
graduate student numbers are up.

*Total Graduate Headcount is 877 which is an increase of 56 or 6.8% over
the Spring 2007 Headcount numbers
*Total Graduate Full-Time Equivalents are 661 which is an increase of 53
or 8.7% over the Spring 2007 numbers
*Total Graduate Student Credit Hours are 5712 which is an increase of
18.5 or.3% over the Spring 2007 numbers
*Total 1st Time Master's student are 43 which is an increase of 17 over
the Spring 2007 numbers
*Total 1st Time Doctoral students are 18 which is an increase of 5 over
the Spring 2007 numbers

I would like to thank everyone involved in achieving these numbers from
our graduate - students, faculty, directors, and coordinators, to the
Graduate School staff, to the Registrar's office for diligently working
to get our graduate students enrolled prior to the Spring 2008 semester
deadlines. These numbers are very encouraging and are moving us towards
our goal of having 1250 graduate students at Michigan Tech.

I greatly appreciate everyone's efforts in helping Michigan Tech achieve
its vision for the future.
