Deans/Chairs - I want to bring to your attention the upcoming Grad Student Council Poster Session (Oct. 13 and 14 in the MUB). The GradStudents are doing some new things this year - like holding the session in acentral location (to promote interest in research among our undergrads), having the session during a campus-wide visit event (family weekend), and involvingalumni in the judging process. The students (and I) need your help to make this event a success. Pleaseencourage your students to submit abstracts and participate. There will beprizes and it will be a chance for them to get some valuable feedback. TheGrad School will be looking at the posters for examples of exciting research that can be featured in future promotional materials - so I hope you will ensure your department/program is well represented.
All the information about the event follows. Note that abstracts are due to Niranjan Londhe by September 29.
Thank you. Jackie
