Subject: Faculty Union Update - April 10, 2007

All:

To let everyone know what is going on, we have received the
Administrative Law Judge's clarification of her intent in her
recommended order in the unfair labor practice.

-There is a 30 calendar day notice-posting period, which started last
Friday.

- We are returning to the negotiating table, with the first negotiations
scheduled for tomorrow. The intent is to negotiate 2-3 days per week
until a contract is finalized.

- The ALJ set aside the petitioners decertification petition, and ruled
that the 30-day notice posting period must be followed by at least 120
calendar days of negotiation [or less if agreement is reached].

- Our lead negotiator will be John Hancock, a labor attorney at the
legal firm, Butzel Long. http://www.butzel.com/bioprasea.cfm?PA_ID=38

That's where we are today. I will probably follow periodically with
reports from the negotiations as things develop.
