Subject: Faculty Union Update - May 10, 2007

All:

The University and the faculty union met three days this week in
continuing continuing negotiations.  We did tentantively agree to one
article - a rewrite of a previously agreed to article to reflect changes
needed in light of the passage of proposal 2 last fall.  Other than
that, the parties exchanged several proposals, but did not reach any
additional agreements.  At this point, we are waiting for responses from
AAUP on 8 articles,and we have a few to respond to. The intent of both
parties is for all articles to be submitted by May 23.    Three days of
negotiations are scheduled for next week.
