All:
The shift in the 2006-2007 Academic Year Calendar to begin classes the day after Labor Day (September 5, 2006) has resulted in a similar one week shift in the contractual start date for faculty contracts (August 21, 2006). This means that there are 15 weeks between the ending payroll date of this spring semester and the start of fall semester. As has been past practice when calendar changes have resulted in more than 14 weeks during the summer semester, faculty will be able to earn up to 15 weeks of compensation this summer. In order to be in compliance with Board of Control policy 19.3 Teaching and Research, which governs compensation during the off semester, faculty will need to request prior approval to earn the additional week of compensation. The Request for Approval for 15 Week's Compensation for Summer 2006 form can be accessed from either of the following websites:

The form is in a PDF writable format. Completed forms need to be processed for approval through the Department Chair/School Dean, the College Dean, and the Provost. Please circulate this information to your faculty.
