Chapter 8. Facilities Management

8.6. Facility Use and Postings

Policy

Facilities Management is delegated the responsibility of maintaining physical facilities. A well kept and long-lasting appearance is desirable for both the interior and exterior of University structures. The maintenance of these conditions in University facilities is to be pursued.

General campus notices, posters, charts, class schedules, etc., are to be posted only on tack boards, bulletin boards, card holders, etc., which are supplied by Facilities Management for that purpose. Additional boards, etc. can be provided by University departments. Items for display are not to be taped or tacked on walls, doors, windows, building signs, trees, or other non-approved surfaces.


Procedure

To request additional tack boards, bulletin boards, card holders, chalkboards, and/or display boards, do the following:

  1. Request approval from Facilities Management for the proposed additional boards or display cases, by memo, describing the number of proposed boards or display cases being ordered and the locations for each.


  2. Once approved by Facilities, purchase the additional boards or display cases using the departmental purchasing card or using departmental funds by Purchase Requisition through the Purchasing Department.


  3. NOTE: The additional boards or display cases must match the existing style and coloring in the facility.

  4. Once the order for additional boards or display cases comes in, contact Facilities Operations at 7-2711 for installation.


  5. NOTE: Facilities Operations will install all furnished boards, pictures, display cases, etc., using appropriate hangers, when requested by a department.

To request access to building roofs, penthouses, or mechanical and electrical rooms for academic, construction, or maintenance purposes do the following:

  1. Contact Facilities Operations at 7-2711 for authorization or assistance.
