8.3. Operational Services

Operational Services: Services requiring assistance from the Facilities Management personnel in delivering, moving, and setting up of furniture and related equipment necessary to carry out campus sponsored functions. This service is intended primarily for on-campus functions.

Facilities Management will perform campus-wide operational services consisting of, but not limited to: setup for examinations, commencement, special programs, lectures, and public events. The moving of office furniture, laboratory equipment, and the delivery of heavy items from University Central Stores and Central Receiving is also provided.

Requests for operational services shall be made as far in advance as possible, to allow ample time for scheduling of the request and for efficient completion of the work.

All work in this classification performed by Facilities Management for Auxiliaries' programs is chargeable to those activities.

To request operational services, do the following:

1. Prepare a memo or e-mail message describing:



1. the nature of the service requested,



2. the location(s) by building name and room number,



3. the time and date the service is required.




2. Forward the memo to Facilities Operations, via campus mail or e-mail message to <drnovak@mtu.edu> or <wjmckill@mtu.edu>.

Allow a minimum of three working days for a response. Please call 7-2711 or 7-2303 for additional information. Facilities Operations will contact the department to discuss scheduling of the job.
