Office of the Ombudsperson: Established by the University Senate to provide any member of the academic faculty with a fair and effective means of stating a complaint to an impartial person who has investigative powers.
General InformationIf problems arise involving tensions, conflicts, or general concerns about fairness, and are not based on a person's membership in a protected group, (such as based on gender or race) then these situations may be considered employee relations issues and may be referred to the director of Human Resources.
Also, the Office of the Ombudsperson is available to faculty and campus personnel as another option for analyzing situations of concern and resolving disputes. The MTU Ombudsperson is Dr. Peck Cho.
ProcedureFor any employee concerns, do the following:
