Section 22.1. Purchasing Guidelines
Pricing Agreements: A negotiated agreement, between the vendor and the University, on a price for a service or item being purchased.
The following types of pricing agreements are available to the University and may be used when purchasing services or items rather than competitive bidding:
Most requisitioners are aware of Web sites, catalogs, and other current pricing resources. If a price cannot be determined from such resources, the price is established through estimating, negotiation, or competitive bid. Due to rapidly changing prices and the vast assortment of commodities purchased by the University, a dollar value estimate should be included on requisitions where actual pricing is not known by the ordering department.
