Chapter 22. Purchasing
Section 22.1. Purchasing Guidelines
Purchases and sale of products and services shall be governed by the philosophy of the Conflict of Interest policy. Briefly stated, the intent of the philosophy is that, if a University employee in the course of employment would profit or benefit as a result of the purchase or sale by the University, the transaction is prohibited. All employees must observe and abide by the conflict of interest policy. It is the responsibility of the requisitioner and authorizing signatories for the appropriate expenditure of University monies. This includes expenditures for what might be considered personal items. An exception to this policy is the Expendable Restricted Fund, which is governed by the guidelines of federal, state, and other sponsors.
