18.3.3. Chemical Spills

1. Evacuate the room, floor, or building as indicated by the degree of danger - when in doubt, evacuate the building.



2. Use the nearest telephone and dial 1 2 3, or if busy call 7-2216, and report that a chemical spill has occurred and:



1. The location of the spill.



2. The type and amount of chemical involved, if known.



3. The major hazards of the spill, if known.



4. Your name and phone number.



5. Stand by to direct emergency response personnel to the site of the spill, if necessary.
