18. Occupational Safety and Health Services (OSHS)

This chapter contains information dealing with the safety and health of all University employees, students, and visitors. The information applies to all students and employees of the University, but is not all inclusive. For reference purposes, this material covers more general policies and procedures; more specialized information will be covered in other publications, such as the safety manual. Please consult the director of Occupational Safety and Health Services if you need interpretive or more specific information, or visit the Web site of Occupational Safety and Health Services.

These policies, as written here, are not the complete policies as adopted by the State of Michigan, Board of Control, the Administration, or the federal government. Copies of relevant Board of Control policies in their entirety are available in the Board of Control Policy Manual.

MTU safety and health policies apply to all MTU students and employees. Failure to comply with safety and health policies may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
