Chapter 15. Memorial Union
The Memorial Union (MUB) facility generally operates during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with reduced hours on weekends. The facilities are generally closed on major holidays and hours may vary during non-academic periods and summer term.
Highlights of the Memorial Union are:
Memorial Union facilities and services are available to registered student groups and functions, University departments and functions, and community groups and functions. Consideration will be given to the order in which requests are received (first-come, first-served), the size of the activity, the availability of the requested facility and services, and the revenue that can be produced to sustain the operation of the Memorial Union. Re-assignment of space may be required from time to time to maximize the use of existing facilities.
Arrangements for reserving facilities and services may be made only through Memorial Union management. This is done one semester at a time unless there is food service. During the week of finals, requests for the following semester will be scheduled.
Any food and/or beverages consumed on the premises in conjunction with an activity, must, unless specifically excepted by the Memorial Union management, be purchased from the Memorial Union and be served by its staff.
Fees and charges will vary, depending upon: the type of group - University group with set up and clean up or non-University group; the group size; preparatory and clean-up requirements and arrangements; whether or not admission is charged; and the magnitude of food and/or beverage services proposed for the event. Fees may also be charged for late cancellation or failure to cancel event. There will be additional charges for audio visual and other equipment.
