13.1.6. Security (Exit Control)

General Information

The convenience of the Open Stack Collection necessitates a security program, especially for those items leaving the building. All entrance/exit doors are equipped with an alarm device. The main door has an exit control point equipped with an electronic security sensing device.

Procedure

If the alarm system sounds when a patron is leaving the Library, the patron is to return to the Circulation Desk. Because some materials cannot be deactivated, the Circulation Desk attendant will bypass the system.
