Chapter 13. Library
Section 13.3. Loan Policies

PREVIOUS PAGE NEXT PAGE

13.3.1. Borrowing Privileges for Faculty

General Information

Faculty may make requests for an exception to the general policy that all loans are made to individuals in person. In order to facilitate their Library research, faculty may wish to have student employees retrieve Library materials for photocopying outside of the Library. Rather than faculty giving up custody of their own ID cards, the Library will issue "Request for Extended Borrowing Privileges" cards which may be used by student employees. The Library will accept and keep a signed card on file. Materials being borrowed are the responsibility of the faculty member.

The signed "Request for Extended Borrowing Privileges" acknowledges that loans made to, and penalties incurred against this card, are the signer's responsibility. A date for the expiration of extended privileges will be established.

Procedure

For exception to the in-person loan policy, a faculty member does the following:

  1. Complete and sign a Request for Extended Borrowing Privileges card.

  2. Have the student present the card at the Circulation Desk when picking up Library material.
